Position Summary

The Fondren Library communications and marketing specialist helps promote library services, programs, and events. Under the guidance of senior management, works on the development and implementation of communication and marketing activities, enabling programs, services, events and/or products to meet organizational objectives.

This is a part time, benefits eligible position with a starting rate of $24.00 an hour and a flexible work schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • No experience required
    • Strong communication skills in both oral and written
    • Organization and creativity skills
    • Analytical problem-solving skills

Essential Functions

  • Writes, designs, and coordinates the production of communication and marketing materials
  • Participates in the development of the digital communication and brand strategy for a program(s) department or unit
  • Guides event planning as needed to support marketing objectives
  • Recommends integrated communications and / or marketing plans to meet objectives
  • Assists in building and / or maintaining a digital community through social media channels, blogs, and the web
  • Drafts content used to engage constituents and grow channels
  • Curates digital content
  • Provides customer service to constituents across digital channels
  • Represents the organization to constituents
  • Compiles data, analyzes and reports metrics
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
