Description:Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Software Engineer who will participate in design engineering, integration, prototyping, algorithm development, and testing of data exploitation applications for commercial, military, and intelligence users. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer to join our fast-paced development team. Successful candidates will have a commendable work ethic, good communication skills, a great attitude, be a results-oriented team player, creative thinker and problem-solver, and follow all ethical standards of Lockheed Martin Space.
Software Engineer responsibilities will include the following:
– Designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging software
– Participating in the full software development lifecycle
– Developing create, straightforward solutions to technical and user experience challenges
– Participating in the team’s meetings, standups, testing, and demonstrations
– Developing unit tests and test procedures
– Providing inputs towards architecture solutions
Basic Qualifications:
Graduate with a Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or other related degree program from an accredited college/university or relevant experience
Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
C++ Development experience
High-speed data ground system experience
Experience performing troubleshooting and checkout during system and enterprise level tests
Unix/Linux development environment experience
This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:
– Strong Math and/or Physics background
– Software Development Practices and Processes
– Containers, Web-based development, numeric computation / backend development
– Knowledge of Agile Practices
– Experience with Atlassian tool suite (e.g., JIRA, Bitbucket, GitLab, etc.)
– Experience with Python or other prototyping language (e.g., MatLab)
– Familiarity with AI/ML
– Strong familiarity with Signal Processing
– Familiarity with Signals Intelligence
– Development experience with multi-threaded applications
– Experience improving software performance
– Demonstrated teamwork skills
– Cross-discipline experience in an Agile development environment
– TS/SCI desired

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9×80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $85,900 – $164,600. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
