We are looking for a highly motivated communications manager to join our Inclusion & Diversity team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the implementation of the I&D communications strategy, marketing strategy, and programs, including integrated campaigns, projects, initiatives, advertising, product development and promotion, messaging, and branding throughout all communication touch points.
You will be creating enterprise-wide internal communications and external customer and community-facing content that is clear, concise, and compelling, and will focus on amplifying Inclusion & Diversity at Starbucks.
You will be working closely with cross-functional teams and senior leaders across the enterprise, including Public Affairs (Communications, Government Affairs & Public Policy), Partner (Human) Resources, Marketing, Legal, and Sustainability & Social Impact, and our Partner Networks (business resource groups). You will partner closely with channel owners including digital/social, retail communications, talent marketing, and events.

As a communications manager, you will…
- Build and execute communications and marketing plans that highlight key pillars and milestones within our global inclusion & diversity strategy, including input from cross-functional teams
- Brief channel owners and digital content creators to ensure the right deliverables and creative assets are created for your plans
- Support drafting, editing, and publishing for companywide communications
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings and content brainstorms to identify ways to continue to improve our marketing, communications, channels, and content
- Advocate for the partner, customer, and diverse perspective and land the right voice, tone, and format for communications
- Track communications performance and provide recommendations for improvement
- Support writing and publishing emergency communications, working with team members across U.S. time zones.
We’d love to hear from people with:
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 or more years of U.S. military service
- 2 or more years of experience drafting and issuing internal or external corporate communications, ideally in a fast-paced setting.
- 1 or more years (s) of experience in a role developing and managing digital, social media, or technology communications platforms.
- 2 or more years of experience in project management
- You are a fast learner – you jump in quickly, with curiosity, to listen, learn and execute quickly. You love following the latest communications, marketing, and content trends and seek ways to build those into your plans.
- A background in diversity, inclusion, and equity and a strong commitment to social justice, social impact, and community building
