This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.
This position is eligible for a (hybrid) telecommuting schedule / remote.
Tasks for this position must be performed largely on-site, but later assignments may be performed remotely.
Essential Functions
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for their assigned programs.
- Directly interfaces with government agencies and Range users to provide advice and information on range communications capabilities.
- Perform as the RGNext point of contact for communications during launch operations.
- Manage the range communications requirements for multiple launch programs.
- Create the Network Implementation Plan (NIP) which describes voice communications, video, timing, telemetry, acquisition data, command status circuits and interfaces required to support launch and daily Range operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to clearly express requirements and ideas verbally and in writing.
- Ability to follow set guidelines and standardized documentation procedures.
- Ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner to when interfacing with government, range users, managers, and supervisors.
Required Experience
- Associates Degree in related electronics field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 0-2 years related electronics experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Understanding of and ability to provision digital voice switching systems.
- The knowledge of or ability to understand Vandenberg range topography, facilities, technical capabilities, and limitations of current communications networks, manpower and equipment.
- Prior work and experience on Vandenberg Space Force Base desired.
- Military or civilian technical control/network operations center experience or equivalent desired.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- The flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License

The salary range for this role is $64,480 to $97,648; however, RGNext considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training and preferred skills, and knowledge.
