Support the health system’s mission to raise awareness for Gillette Children’s, by contributing and leading the team primarily responsible for corporate and operational communications, media relations, crisis communications, internal communications/intranet. The role serves as a key communications partner for many internal departments and is actively involved in integrated communications planning in collaboration with brand, content, and digital teams.
This is a full time, hybrid opportunity (work onsite 3 days per week and 2 days from home). The office location is downtown St. Paul, MN.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual salary range for this opportunity is $73,736/annually to $110,593/annually, with a median salary of $92,164/annually. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees. Primary Job Responsibilities
- Leads corporate and operational communications, media relations and other culture building activities to further the mission, vision and values.
- Oversees the network of communication channels focused on sharing key information, strategic priorities and culture/people initiatives. Constantly works to maintain, evolve and incorporate the Gillette culture/mission, vision and values into internal and external communications. Evolves communications strategies and tactics to reflect best practices in a rapidly changing environment.
- Writes, develops plans, creates content and advises internal customers on best methods for message delivery.
- Involved with emergency management and other communications functions; understands day-to-day operations of facility.
- Serves as a spokesperson as needed. Guides media outreach function with key strategist.
- Engaged in social media, including monitoring for reputation, and sharing culture building content.
- Serves as a partner with designated clinical areas and internal clients to coordinate marketing and communication strategies and tactics.
- Serves as a strategic advisor to communicate effectively, building brand awareness, and driving engagement and calls to action.
- Rounds with clients to ensure in-depth understanding of objectives and demonstrates how marketing contributes to organizational success.
- Shares aggregated knowledge with Marketing & Communications team to ensure coordination and “connect the dots.”
- In collaboration with creative, web and content specialists, develops messages for targeted audiences (employees, providers, influencers, media, consumers, patients and families). Work includes (but not limited to) planning, content development, collateral production, event management, media pitches and posts, and medical education.
- Supports provider outreach (sales) and other clinical initiatives.
- Reviews key metrics and uses data to continuously evolve and improve processes.
- Participates in various meetings, prepares agendas, meeting summaries and action plans. Updates master plan spreadsheets and other analytics.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum seven years of communication experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent communication experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Works closely with clients to improve communication of Gillette’s programs and services and to create brand awareness.
- Must be able to manage many projects simultaneously with varying deadlines, purposes and audiences.
- Ability to prioritize and manage occasional competing expectations of stakeholders.
- Must be able to translate occasionally complex, clinical information into compelling content that is appealing to broad audiences.
- Must be able to interact with patients and families often experiencing challenging healthcare scenarios.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in communications or related field
- Previous experience in a health care organization
- Leadership experience
