Job Summary

The Community Affairs Specialist will provide support, analysis, and project management for company community affairs initiatives. This individual must be able to organize and analyze data. He/she must foster strong working relationships as a trusted partner, working with Department staff, business contacts at all levels across the company and without explicit reporting relationships. Individual must be highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills and able to effectively handle multiple projects meeting assigned deadlines. Must demonstrate initiative and be able to see tasks through to completion with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Support company community impact programs – from concept to implementation to evaluation – ensuring programs are executed in an operationally efficient manner, maximized for impact, and that roadblocks are assessed and escalated with recommended solutions. Manage requests for community support, tracking and monitoring decision process through to completion – keeping all stakeholders informed. Create, track, implementation of approved requests and activity – ensuring timely payments, fulfillment of any event entitlements, and tracking participation (employees, elected officials) and outcomes. Coordinate with key internal departments (i.e., GA, OMS, Sales, Marketing) and external stakeholders (community organizations)
  • Budget and Program Metrics: Collect information from various groups to track community and government affairs activity and spend; Run reports, organize, and analyze data to be used for information requests and to evaluate community impact.
  • Program and Event Logistics: Assist with preparation and execution of programs and events including tracking, sending communications, shipping items, coordinating with local teams and all follow up for reporting. Attend events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Four years of business, operational or community experience, with demonstrated strong communication and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and act quickly with demonstrable judgment
  • Ability to develop and execute an initiative with minimal ongoing oversight and excellent follow through
  • Ability to establish relationships at all levels in a corporate setting

  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus among disparate interests to achieve business goals

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $59,758.00 – $95,613.00 / year.
