General Description
Works at various Community Centers assisting the volunteers and clients with activities and special functions such as rentals, memberships, fitness center, instructional classes, and special events.
The primary work schedule for this part-time position varies and requires working nights, weekends, and holidays.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE/RECOVERY ACTIVITIES
All employees will be required to work before, during, or after an emergency. During an emergency, employees may temporarily be assigned to work and perform duties outside the normal scope of their position, location, and work schedule to fit the needs of the County and its citizens. Emergency response duties may also include driving and/or operating a county vehicle or equipment and employees must obey all safety policies, and roadway rules and laws.
Essential Functions
- Maintains order and ensures that all rules and regulations of all rental facilities are adhered to.
- Performs work at various events after normal business hours (may include nights, weekends, and holidays).
- Opens, closes, and secures assigned facility as directed.
- Checks and maintains cleanliness of restrooms. Replenishes restroom and facility supplies as needed.
- Assists staff with inventory, room set-up (setting up and tearing down tables and chairs daily) and custodial duties as needed.
- Encourages community residents to utilize programs.
- Performs basic clerical functions including, but not limited to, typing correspondence, filing and other routine clerical tasks.
- May be assigned to other locations on a temporary, as needed basis.
- Works schedule varies daily and weekly, as needed.
- Drives and/or operates a county vehicle or equipment and must obey all safety policies, and roadway rules and laws.
- Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
Education, Training, and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior work experience in an office type setting and working with the public preferred and desired.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration, Skills
- Valid Florida Driver License (or must obtain within 30 days of establishing residency in Florida).
- Successful completion of Level II Background screening is required.
- Excellent customer service skills, communication skills and strong attention to detail required.
- Ability to work after normal business hours (may include nights, weekends, and holidays).
- Must have or be able to obtain current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within three (3) months of employment.

- Must have ability to maintain accurate records.
- Requires ability to maintain courteous and effective relations with County staff, elected officials, community interest groups and the public.
- Must have strong working knowledge of computers and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of Products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Must have or be able to obtain within 90 days certification in FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses:
- IS-100.c: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS); and
- IS-700.b: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
- The job involves frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds.
- The job requires frequent bending, squatting, and balancing, and occasional climbing, kneeling, twisting, and reaching above shoulders.
- The job requires the completion of tasks that involve simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manual manipulation, occasional typing, working in darkness, driving automotive equipment, and operating a manual transmission.
- The job requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, depth perception and color vision, hearing, and speaking.
- The job may risk exposure to adverse weather and extreme noise.
