Community Liaison

The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.

DYCD is looking for a Community Liaison who will perform the following duties:
• Participates in assessment and evaluation of DYCD facilities and NYCHA Cornerstone facilities.
• Interfaces with NYCHA personnel and community residents to ensure that needs are being met.
• Analyzes physical sites and recommends improvements.
• Assists in reporting and ensuring that repairs to the sites are responded to expeditiously.
• Liaising with essential stakeholders to ensure that resources are available and that timelines are
being adhered to
• Assists in quality control, conducts health and safety checks and inspection of work sites.
• Inspects facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies and reports hazardous conditions and
facility maintenance needs to Project Manager.
• Assist in the recording of data for the planning and control of multiple projects.
• Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required.
• Performs related duties, as assigned by Administrative Services

Minimum Qual Requirements

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in “1” above.

• Knowledge of building, construction, and maintenance
• Excellent time management skills and team player
• Great logical thinking skills
• Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license.
