The Community Living Assistant is a critical member of our ministry by creating a safe, stable, and healthy community while encouraging camaraderie and a sense of belonging among the clients.
We are hiring for 2nd and 3rd shift roles.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Monitors the activity of clients ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules by walking the facility frequently, stationed in the dining hall, monitoring cameras and being engaged in client activities
- Conducts orientation of community living guidelines, facility layout and basic living classes
- Documents records of events that occur during shifts, as well as thorough incident reports using Salesforce and Microsoft Office by end of shift
- Enhances relationships by demonstrating effective problem resolution skills
- Assists clients with within guidelines when processing issues and conflict resolution using de-escalation techniques
- Administers medication and documents consumption in log in accordance to the medication policy of the program
- Escalates to Community Living Leader or Lead Community Living Assistant clients who present a heighten behavioral challenge and/or have a special need
- Checks for contraband in and around facility through general observation, room or package/purse searches per the search, contraband, and weapons protocols
- Serves as liaison to Client Support Services regarding client community living concerns, needs, and emergencies by providing notes in Salesforce and email communication

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
- Strong desire to work in a Christian ministry and passion for serving those experiencing homelessness through leading and teaching
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CPR and First Aid Certification preferred
- CPI Trained preferred
- Believes and commits to Atlanta Mission’s Statement of Faith
- Strong Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
- Efficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is constant
- High energy and ability to engage others towards a common goal
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Physical Requirements:
- Position requires standing for long periods of time and to move and walk to various locations, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, reach, pull, push, bend and twist.
- Must have the ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, calculator and computer printer
- Must be able to communicate accurate information
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 20lbs
- Must have peripheral vision and depth perception
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions during events
- Moderate noise as in a business office environment
- Lower exposure risk to communicable diseases as described by OSHA
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: This is an essential role for which the expectation is that employees in this role are available to work in the case of an emergency (i.e. public health or weather related emergencies, government intervention, etc). Work schedules and job functions are subject to change based on the business needs.
