Community Marketing and Social Media Specialist

Summary

Join the University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA) as a Community Marketing and Social Media Specialist. UMMA believes that art museums should be a vibrant hub of public and community life. You will be an important part of the team working to make that vision a reality. You will develop and implement a community engagement strategy that builds a network of highly engaged UMMA community members, both online and off, that develops mutual value, and creates spaces for dialogue and sharing.

This is a new kind of social media management role for a new kind of public art museum. Yes you will tweet. Yes you will create TikToks and Instagram stories; but more than that, you will deeply connect with the communities central to the Museum’s mission ensuring they feel like they belong and are invited to engage. Prior museum experience is not expected or required.

You will report to the Director of Marketing and Public Relations and coordinate efforts with the Public Experience and Learning department.
This opportunity has a hybrid work arrangement with both remote and in-person (as required) appointments. You will have a flexible schedule, working occasional evenings and weekends.
