Job Title: Community Outreach Liaison

Reports to: Director of Community Relations/Frisco Education Foundation (FEF)

Dept/School: Central Administration Office – Communications Department

Work Year: 226 days

Base Salary: $36,500 Actual salary will be calculated based on experience.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist the Director of Community Relations/FEF in bringing community and schools/district together to work collaboratively for the benefit of students and staff in the Frisco Independent School District (ISD). Maintain and coordinate volunteer and community outreach programs and help plan district Partners in Education events and activities. Strengthen ties in the community to build relationships between teachers, students, and volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of community resources
Experience working with the business community
Commitment to maintain confidentiality
Ability to use personal computer and software to create spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and Power Point presentations
Knowledge of Adobe Suite
Ability to efficiently track and manage multiple projects and programs
Self-directed and can work on a timeline
Knowledge of mentor and volunteer programs
Knowledge of volunteer tracking software

Experience:
Experience working with Community Outreach programs, preferably in a public education environment
Experience in the community relations field preferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Recruit volunteers from the community.
Recruit mentors from the community to work with students.
Recruit presenters for career days and topical experts for parents, students, and counselors.
Assist with efforts of the community to benefit our students and staff.
Act as liaison between the District and the community with outreach programs and opportunities.
Coordinate District on-going school supply drive.
Assist District Special Events Specialist with districtwide events.
Manage District volunteer tracking software.
Coordinate and prepare volunteer trainings.
Coordinate staff trainings on volunteer software.
Coordinate community requests for volunteers and disseminate to campuses.
Track and document volunteer hours.
Serve as liaison between District and volunteer tacking software vendor.
Assist Director in updating Partners in Education Program strategic plan.
Execute day to day responsibilities based on Partners in Education strategic plan.
Organize and coordinate resources programs.
Coordinate with District webmaster on maintenance of Frisco ISD resource page on website.
Work with campus administrators and District departments to assess and meet partnership, program, resource, and volunteer needs.
Help maintain a resource list for families in need.
Work with the Frisco Education Foundation programs and events.
Work with the District Coordinator of Academic Partnerships to engage the community in meaningful, strategic volunteer opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals. Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional districtwide travel. Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
