SUMMARY

The Community Outreach Manager plays a key role in creating an atmosphere that exemplifies Altura’s mission, vision and values with both employees and Members. The Community Outreach Manager is responsible for enhancing the awareness, reputation, and brand of Altura to our Members and to the local community through the planning of events, activities, sponsorships and outreach to our Members and our local community. Primary responsibilities include community event planning (for both employees and Members), budgeting, vendor management, event execution, sponsorships, and managing our key strategic partner relationships (listed later), the Altura Foundation, and the relationships with our local Chambers of Commerce.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Develops and executes community outreach programs that build relationships with key stakeholders. Establishes metrics and deliverables, and assists in negotiating agreements with strategic partners, such as California Baptist University Athletics, University of California, Riverside Athletics, Riverside University Health System, City of Riverside, Riverside Unified School District, Riverside Community College District, The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art, Culture & History, March Air Reserve Base, and Riverside County Office of Education.
  • Leads the planning, coordination, and logistics of credit union member and employee events, such as Member Appreciation Day, holiday events, recurring employee meetings, including the Monthly Staff Meeting, Annual Kick-Off, Way-Day, Member and employee gift giving, and the Management Planning Conference, ensuring all events adhere to the credit union’s branding strategy and standards
  • Manages the planning and execution of Altura’s Latino Outreach strategy in collaboration with the DEI Officer. Establishes metrics and processes for the strategy, and tracks progress against goals.
  • Builds and tracks annual budget for events, meetings, programs, sponsorships and employee engagement budgets (including AwardCo); staying within budget and ensuring funds are allocated to the appropriate GLs.
  • Serves as the staff liaison for the Altura Foundation, with responsibilities including managing the scholarship process, foundation board meetings, and any other foundation-related events or programs.
  • Manages all aspects of social media for Altura Credit Union, including developing and executing social media strategy, creating and posting content, and managing social media interactions. Collaborates with marketing team on design of social media graphics and assets.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in marketing, events management, or credit union management is preferred.
  • An expert level of understanding and experience with desktop applications such as MS Office Suite, personal productivity software, Microsoft Project, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to write reports, create PowerPoints, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the demonstrated ability to provide leadership in the management and prioritization of multiple projects with changing priorities while under strict deadlines and constant interruptions.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills in order to provide leadership and motivation to technical staff, as well as effectively communicate with Altura Credit Union and its Affiliate’s staff and management.
