Position Overview:
The Intern is the advocate for the team in the local community and for all of the team’s promotions. The role is responsible for proactively ensuring the team is visible in the off-season, as well as continuing to maintain a strong presence during the season.
Essential Job Functions:
- Engage in all full-time community relations for the team as it relates to the team’s presence in the community.
- Directs a team of seasonal employees to deliver on-field promotions and in game marketing activities.
- Hires and supervises all on-field entertainment staff yearly.
- Handles all assigned marketing related projects and details.
- Handles the administrative details for all on-field promotions that entertain fans and integrates our sponsors with our team.
- Assists in the promotions of upcoming game-day entertainment during the baseball season.
- Assist in details that coordinate the production of promotions.
- Orchestrate internal employee company community relations activities in which our staff can participate.
- Stay relevant, focused, and competitive by following the community for our team to stay on top of things.
- Prepare or edit organizational publications for internal and external audiences.
- Establish, manage and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of community, consumer, and public interest groups.
- Handle communication of informational programs to maintain favorable public perceptions of our team.
- Work with corporate sponsorship team and sponsors as it relates to community relations initiatives.
- Works closely with sponsorship sales and ticket sales teams to create value added promotions for our sponsors/customers.
Experience
- Previous experience working in sports, either in an internship and or full time capacity working in a marketing, sponsorship fulfillment and or community relations role.
- Experience in graphic design is a plus.
- Public Speaking experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, with urgency and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage with all types of personality styles.
This internship will start in February 2024 and you will be expected to remain until the end of the Chihuahuas Season. We cover $750 a month of your living expenses, and then pay you $10 for every hour you are scheduled to work in games.
