Department: Children’s Services – Foster Care Program in Allentown PA
Availability of Position: Immediate
Schedule: Full-Time position, Monday-Friday, working a flexible schedule to meet the client’s needs.
Continuation of this position is dependent upon the renewal of the grant or continued funding
Reporting Relationship: Placement Services Director
Salary and Grade: $45,760.00 per year; Exempt, Grade 10

The Community Resource Navigator will assist families in increasing household income, helps to create a thriving and stable family environment and improve the overall well-being of families.
The Community Resource Navigator works in a home like setting called The Comfort Cottage which promotes a safe and
nurturing environment between the children and their families.
The Community Resource Navigator will have the opportunity to participate in professional development and learn Trust Based Relational Intervention so to engage with families using the innovative and evidenced based practice of TBRI®.
Responsibilities
Description of Position: Listen to family’s needs to identify what programs they are eligible for and help them through the application process. Assist in household budgeting. Link parents/caregivers with local benefits offices & faith-based resources. Help parents/caregivers obtain official documentation required for benefit applications & employment. Connect families with employment-related resources. Help enlist support for strengthening the family unit and empowering parents/caregivers to reach self-sufficiency. Working directly with The Salvation Army and County Staff in coordination of family services and participating in team meetings.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred plus a minimum of three years’ experience in working with families in a social services setting. Bilingual Spanish preferred. Strong engagement and organizational skills are a must. Flexibility in scheduling work hours in order to meet the needs of the clients is a requirement of the position. Candidate must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
