Job Summary
The Compliance/Audit Specialist is responsible for updating hospital accounts for accurate billing and reimbursement, providing QA/feedback to registration and outside departments, providing customer service to other facilities and patients, and processing of payments.
Duties
- Review of registration accounts to identify areas of inaccuracy
- Efficiently utilizes hospital reports, programs, systems, including E.H.R., to identify information in which is needed for billing
- Assists in updating various requests from billers to expedite billing and reimbursement
- Maintains professional relationships with other departments, facilitates, and patients
- Provides exceptional customer service to other departments, facilitates, and patients
- Brings examples of inaccuracies to leadership team in an effort to decrease inefficiencies and support productive work flow
- Stays current on hospital and departmental changes
- Retrieve and Scans requisitions and patient documents into Hospital Systems for accurate record keeping
- Maintains current physician and facility information
- Processes payments made by facilities or patients
- Performs with a minimum of errors – works neatly and with accuracy regardless of volume of work
- Accuracy and efficiency with which all assignments are completed
- Encourages other personnel towards professional growth and development by sharing information
- Organizes work for effective utilization of time
- Able to determine priorities when organizing daily assignments
- Seeks assistance when necessary from Patient Access and/or Patient Financial Systems leadership team
