Job Description
Pay Grade: H
Under general supervision, the Compliance Investigator 1 investigates allegations of fraud and abuse within the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Food Stamp), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), and Child Care programs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations of intentional program violations in the SNAP, TANF, and Child Care programs.
- Establish overpayments in the SNAP and TANF programs.
- Process claim payments in the SNAP, TANF, and Child Care programs.
- Attend court hearings for claims created. This involves hearings held at the Office of State Administrative Hearings (OSAH) as well as superior courts across the state.
- Review and process inquiries from the Public Assistance Reporting Information System.
- Review and process inquiries from the National Accuracy Clearinghouse database.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
OR
- Completion of Two (2) years of coursework (90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours) at an accredited college or university AND One (1) year of directly-related experience.
Note: Some positions may require a valid driver’s license.
Note: Some positions may require P.O.S.T. certification or eligibility.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all the following skills/experience:
- One (1) year of full-time professional investigative experience with a state, federal, or local government agency OR Bachelor’s degree in a related area (eg. Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice).
- Demonstrated skill in using proper procedure to compute overpayments related to the Food Stamp and TANF programs.
- Demonstrated skill in conducting investigations and in preparing and presenting case reports and testimony in the judicial system concerning public assistance programs and/or employee fraud.
