POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a full-time position within the Office of Information Technology Services Division. The Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) Business Systems Engineering (BSE) Bureau provides a variety of information systems-related services to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Florida criminal justice agencies that use its information systems. This position serves within the Content Management section of BSE to accomplish the following goals: Support three enterprise level website; consulting with customers; and provide reliable and progressive information systems solutions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Consults with customers and conducts assessments in order to determine user needs and to define system requirements;
  • Provides consulting both internally and externally to FDLE and other government agencies;
  • Analyze and resolve problems with production information systems;
  • Conduct research and development in information technology to support the planning and enhancement of FDLE information systems;
  • Presents findings and recommendations in a professional manner that is both relevant for information systems staff and meaningful for end-users;
  • Keeps supervisor informed of any significant (actual or potential) delay of service or any inability to accommodate a customer’s request within a reasonable time-frame;
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
  • Completes assignments in a timely and professional manner;
  • Writing, testing, debugging, implementing, and documenting software while adhering to ITS programming standards; and
  • Work effectively in a team environment.

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A high school diploma or its equivalent and three years of experience in computer systems analysis or computer programming;
  2. 90 semester hours or its equivalent, of coursework from an accredited college or university; or
  3. Any combination of education or experience, as described above, for a total of three years.

Note: 30 semester hours, or equivalent, of course work from an accredited college or university is equivalent to one year of experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Skill in the use of automated testing tools;
  • Ability to development effective Information Technology test plans and execution of test plans;
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in Information Systems Development Methodologies (ISDM);
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in Information Systems Life Cycle management;
  • Knowledge of automated tools for problem reporting and tracking;
  • Ability to configure and administer Content Management Systems;
  • Knowledge of MS Project and other MS office software packages;
  • Ability to provide solutions and problem solve; and
  • Knowledge of IIS, SQL Server, asp.net, MVC, Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Kentico.

BASE SALARY:

  • $45,000.00

BACKGROUND:

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants.
