POSITION SUMMARY:
This position serves as a Business Analyst in the Bureau of Business Systems Engineering within the Information Technology Services Division. The BSE BA is responsible for project business analysis activities required for FDLE’s customers. This includes managing customer relations, gathering and documenting business requirements (both functional and nonfunctional), facilitating IT requirements meetings; assisting with GAP analysis; consulting with FDLE customers and conducting assessments in order to determine user needs and to define system requirements; and performs other related assignments as requested by supervisor. The position also requires excellent facilitation and customer service skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Meeting with Project Managers, technical developers, customers and stakeholders to assist in the creation of project documentation to include project charters, project status reports and requirements documents;
- Reviewing project management documents and providing an assessment of completeness of required project management documents;
- Gathering and writing business and technical requirements; and
- Participation in Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions.
To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or its equivalent and three years of experience in computer
systems analysis or computer programming; - 90 semester hours or its equivalent, of coursework from an accredited college or
university; or - Any combination of education or experience, as described above, for a total of three
years.
Note: 30 semester hours, or equivalent, of course work from an accredited college or university is equivalent to one year of experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication;
- Knowledge of PMBOK and or BABOK;
- Knowledge of Business Analyst Modeling Techniques;
- Knowledge of Visio and Microsoft Office software packages;
- Knowledge of State IT procurement rules.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and translate business data into digestible requirements;
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; and
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others.
BASE SALARY:
- $38,426.56
