Job Summary:
Supermicro is looking for a Compensation Manager to join our company to support the fast-growing, dynamic business operation. In this position, you will collaborate with HR leaders, Recruiters, and business leaders to lead, align, and implement the company’s Compensation framework. The key deliverables are to help operationalize compensation programs to ensure alignment with the business needs at Supermicro.
This position will be based in our headquarters located in San Jose, CA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and lead all compensation processes and programs (base and variable pay, merit, promotions, incentive plans, equity, etc.)
- Assist in preparing analysis and materials for the executive management review meetings and other leadership presentations
- Design and develop executive compensation philosophy strategy and track market trends
- Benchmark activities across all areas to elevate our understanding of our compensation competitiveness, and evolve it over time to meet the changing landscape of total compensation.
- Understand current and emerging market trends to identify potential opportunities and gaps.
- Make recommendations and provide leadership for internal and external offers to attract and retain top talents, including executives, implementing compensation tools and processes.
- Partner with HR leaders, Talent Acquisition, Finance, and Leadership to understand needs related to compensation.
- Provide subject matter expertise and accurately interpret, counsel, communicate, and educate HR Business Partners, managers and executives on compensation philosophy, policy and guideline interpretations, and job evaluations.
- Develop a comprehensive, effective communications strategy to share compensation information with all of levels of management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent; plus 8+ years of experience in broad-based compensation, executive, incentive plan strategy, design, and administration; MBA or advanced certification (CCP, CEP, or, CECP) preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in technology company, to include: executive compensation, sales compensation, pay-for-performance, corporate governance, short/long term incentive planning, and long-term equity pay programs.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills to effectively communicate compensation strategies at all levels, from administrative to the C-Suite.
- Ability to establish strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated good judgment, strong business acumen, effective influencing and leadership skills, as well as strong assessment and analytical skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, growing environment.
- Knowledge of leading practices and external trends in compensation and HR systems.
- Knowledge of current practices in equity plan administration including understanding and managing plan provisions, understanding implications of plan changes and related costs, and understanding of current equity best practices.
- Leadership skills balanced with a willingness to play a ‘hands-on’ role with key projects.

Salary Range: $120,000 – $210,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
