Configuration Management Analyst (Software)

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a technically-minded, detail-oriented Configuration Management Analyst to join our robust Configuration Management (CM) team in Landover, MD. This position is an excellent opportunity for a junior systems administrator or software engineer looking for an exciting and diverse opportunity.

Our program provides full life cycle support for a large Information Technology (IT) system for the Department of Defense (DoD). This program delivers full life-cycle engineering support for all system elements including Development (hardware, software and networks), Systems and Security Engineering (Integration, testing and Deployment), Sustainment (Logistics, and field support), Network Operations Center (NOC)/Help Desk, and Government user training support for user community.

In this role you will join an experienced software CM team using Agile/Scrum methodologies to maintain software baselines, create software releases, and perform software installations on workstations, servers, and virtual machines.

The Configuration Management Analyst will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Use written procedures to perform software builds and create releases for test and deployment.
  • Work with engineers to troubleshoot and resolve build issues.
  • Create and update software build and installation procedures.
  • Assist in automating software builds and installations.
  • Install Linux, Windows, and MacOS operating systems and application software.
  • Assist in software testing activities.
  • Conduct configuration audits.
  • Produce CM reports.
  • Document and update CM processes and procedures.
  • Perform other CM duties as needed.

**This role is required to provide support, onsite, Mon-Fri**

**This program does allow for a flexible work schedule and is walking distance from a Metro station**

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree with two (2+) years of experience, Masters Degree with no years of experience, or High-school Diploma/GED with eight (8+) years of experience
  • Working knowledge of the Unix/Linux command line
  • An active/valid Security+ certification, or equivalent, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) or LibreOffice
  • Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of experience, Masters Degree with two (2) years of experience, or High-school Diploma/GED with 10 years of experience
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix and scripting such as bash, Perl, etc
  • Working knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Ansible, jFrog Artifactory, Subversion

Target Salary Range

$66,000 – $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
