Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Management & Product Integration Engineer to join our dynamic Space Launch Systems (SLS) team at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects of Configuration Management activities including the development of Configuration Management planning documentation
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining hardware/software configuration control
  • Establish and coordination of Configuration/Change Control Boards (CCBs) for hardware; managing and delivering engineering drawings, specification and software, including engineering change documentation
  • Processes requests for variances and other design documentation; maintaining configuration control of Acceptance Data Package (ADP)
  • Maintains data within the CM document management tools, configuration status accounting system reports (CSAR) / ADAB reconciliation
  • Facilitate and support supplier and customer reviews and audits (FCA /PCA, Acceptance Reviews (AR), etc.)
  • Develop and manage the execution of small to medium projects including schedules, budgets and progress reporting to ensure implementations that are on time, within budget and meet quality objectives.
  • Analyze end users business processes to provide solutions to facilitate desired objectives
  • Utilize data gathered from customers to assist in the definition of Configuration and Data Management requirements for product hardware, software and engineering design data systems
  • Performs integration, routine analysis and resolution of issues with engineering product structure.
  • Leads as design / as built reconciliation / Configuration Status Accounting
  • Leads functional Configuration Audits / Physical Configuration Audit both internal and at supplier site
  • Conduct Acceptance Reviews (AR) for supplier hardware
  • Review and approve supplier deliverables (SDRLs)
  • Mentors and provides guidance to junior team members, developers, and engineers who are geographically dispersed
  • Provides additional support to the team as necessary

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a mathematics, scientific or information technology field of study)
  • Experience with hardware / software configuration management

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with hardware / software configuration management
  • 5+ years’ experience with the coordination and execution of a Configuration Control Board
  • 5+ years’ experience using or applying metrics to measure performance against projects or processes to ensure effective, high quality execution
  • 5+ years conducting Physical and Configuration Audits
  • Familiarity with Government Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP)
  • Familiarity with Windchill, CSDT, IBI, MESci

Typical Education/Experience:

Experienced (Level 3): Bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4): Bachelor’s degree and typically 9 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 7 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range:

Experienced: $90,100 – $121,900

Senior: $113,050 – $152,950
