Framatome is seeking a Project Manager for our Mill Ridge Road office in Lynchburg, Virginia. Remote work options may be considered. With only broad supervision, this position is typically responsible for managing complex single product line projects or moderately complex multiple product line projects from proposal development and award through contract closeout. Responsibilities include planning, scheduling and control of project activities to achieve project objectives. Ultimately, the role of the project manager works to achieve client satisfaction and Framatome financial objectives. Position reports to the IBPE Major Projects Manager.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepares project plans/schedules/materials to achieve project quality, reliability, cost and timing objectives.
- Utilizes approved project management methods and processes to execute medium to high risk projects of existing technology and methods to meet client needs and expectations.
- Provides primary interface between project team, management and client, promoting an effective, collaborative team spirit.
- Develops assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project, collaborating with supervisors, project engineers, and technical staff.
- Coordinates multiple project activities including organizing and directing personnel, materials and equipment; utilizes team building skills to ensure satisfactory project performance.
- Defines and forecasts needed skills to meet project objectives.
- Monitors overall execution of project activities, risks, customer’s expectations and compliance with Framatome and customer’s requirements for project reporting and performance measurement. Supports IBPE OpEx initiatives.
- Managing all aspects of vendors; working with procurement for soliciting proposals, vendor selection, contracting and contract management.
- Coordinates communications with all areas of the enterprise; collaborates with all levels of leadership within IBPE to function as one team; works with sales team to develop scope and provide inputs to proposals.
- Manages cash flow and ensures attainment of expected cash position.
- Expected to achieve and continue to maintain Framatome PM Certification.
- Typical Tasks specific to IBPE:
- Manage medium to large external projects including power uprate projects, non-fuel portions of fuel cycle extension projects, major plant equipment or system upgrades and other long duration, higher complexity, multi-disciplined engineering projects that involves multiple internal business units and subcontractors.
- Requires interfacing with project stakeholders both internal and external. Internal stakeholders include the IB management, engineering supervisors, project controls specialists, HR, sales personnel, and PM/managers of other IB business units. External stakeholders include customers and subcontractors (engineering, PM, management, accounting and purchasing/sales), regulatory authorities, auditors and representatives from industry organizations.
- In addition to project execution, PM will support developing, proposing and closing additional opportunities through execution of the group’s growth strategy working collaboratively with Product Development and the Sales organizations. This will involve leveraging industry networks and contacts as well as participation in business development tasks and opportunities.

Required Experience
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this opportunity:
- Bachelors Degree plus a minimum of 8 years of related work experience or experience in lieu of degree. At least 4 years of project-related experience is required. Advanced degrees may substitute for years of related experience
The following may be used to differentiate candidates who apply for this position:
- Able to secure unescorted access at a US Commercial Nuclear power plant and maintain that access.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management plan development, implementation and administration
- Strong business and/or technical expertise in a related technical or professional capacity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of staff & management
- Excellent working knowledge of PC-based applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
- Strong problem identification and resolution skills with emphasis on “root cause” analysis
- Excellent report development and presentation skills
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Strong ability to relate/empathize with people in order to build relationships with customers and vendors, internally within the PM organization and with the engineers that support our projects. Quick learner, detail oriented and comfortable with public speaking a strong plus.
- Experience managing projects or project engineering for nuclear power plants
- Engineering degree with several years of technical experience.
- Previously badged for unescorted access at a US Commercial Nuclear power plant.
- PMI Certified Project Management Professional
- Completion of the primary Project Management training offered by Framatome.
- Familiarity with the tools and techniques used by project management within Framatome
- Experience interfacing with NRC
- MBA
- Sales experience

Our total rewards package
The range of base salary for the position is between $106,000 – $143,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
