Construction Cost Analyst

We are looking for passionate Construction Cost Analyst to help achieve that mission.

As an analyst you will be responsible for collating global Capex cash flow projections through collaboration with project teams and assist in providing analytics/insights, for the leadership team reporting across complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million, multi-year datacenter construction, Fitout projects.

Other responsibilities include maintaining cost databases, leading the development of tools for cost reporting, reviewing data received from sites, to ensure consistent and accurate cost reporting for all stakeholders from Senior leadership to field level operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the collation of Capex cashflow projections across multiple business groups (Builds, Fitout, Land & Leases).
  • Facilitate monthly Capex review meetings.
  • Analyze cashflow variances for program level reporting and aimed at improving cashflow projections accuracy.
  • Maintain Construction cost database for project costs to facilitate monthly analytics and insights reporting.
  • Support the development and incorporation of cost management tools, and to ensure they align with cost processes and procedures across all cost management scopes.
  • Audit data across cost management systems.
  • Support and assist the global Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) program to ensure consistent usage of standard codes.
  • Lead the reporting of critical budgetary and cost risk factors.
  • Facilitate monthly project financial review reporting and meetings.
  • Lead the provision of ad-hoc analytics, business insights based on project costs and forecasts to leadership team and finance.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, Construction Project Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Cost Analyst/Cost Engineer in an infrastructure, manufacturing or construction environment
  • 3+ years of experience with applications such as Microsoft Office (specifically Excel), SharePoint, Visio

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check every two years thereafter.
    • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under U.S. export control regulations, potentially under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency or other protected status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.
    • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local U.S. government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.
    • Criminal Justice Information Services: This position may require passing a background check conducted through the CJIS criminal justice information system by authorized local, state, and/or federal agencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a construction cost role as a cost engineer/cost analyst on complex, multi-group, multi-disciplinary construction projects
  • 3+ years of experience in a construction cost role working for a project owner on complex, multi-group, multi-disciplinary construction projects, and managing corporate level reporting and tool & process development
  • Experience building positive relationships and develop support from a wide variety stakeholder including capacity (demand/supply managers), site selection managers, construction managers, Cost Managers, IT engineers, Finance managers, Software architects and Senior executives
  • Ability to drive constant innovation, improvement cycles and lean principles while bringing constructive tension and challenger mindset
  • Experience with Cost Management, Estimating and Change Control
  • Knowledge of cashflow forecasting on Construction projects
  • Experience with project tool development, management, and quality control of databases
  • Experience in the Data Center Construction Industry
  • Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International (AACEi) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications
  • Masters of Business Administration specialized in Finance

Business Program Management IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 – $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 – $195,000 per year.
