Arcadis seeks Construction Field Inspectors to join the team in Selma, CA to work in a field setting to perform construction inspections to assure materials and workmanship incorporated into each construction project are in conformity with the requirements of the approved plans and specifications.
Must be able to work onsite in Selma, CA.

Role Description
The Construction Field Inspector will perform on-site Quality Assurance (QA) to confirm contractor compliance with approved Contract Documents, Construction Quality Control Plan and Owner Requirements during Construction by the Contractor.
Role Accountabilities
- Review Drawings and Specificationsand understand all RFIs (Request for Information), Submittals, and other change notices documents impacting the work in the field. Ensure construction staff is utilizing and building from the latest and most recent construction documents.
- Review all approved submittals. Verify “approved” or “approved as noted” and ensure comments are incorporated into the work.
- Conduct visual inspections of the work per project specifications and standards.
- Prepare a running “quality” punch list. Publicize this list as part of the weekly progress meeting.
- Participate in the preparation of a “Work Plan” for each distinct element of the work.
- Coordinate and compile associated documentation of testing data with 3rd party materials testing lab and their on-site personnel.
- Perform quality control inspections. Focus on the four phases of inspection (plan the work; initial inspection; follow-up (daily) inspections and close-out inspection).
- Maintain records of quality testing such as pipe pressure testing, soil density records etc. Prepare a running “quality” punch list. Publicize this list as part of the weekly progress meeting.
- Prepare and actively participate in the resolution of project deficiency reporting, by writing NCR’s.
- Maintain Project Deficiency and Noncompliance logs.
- Maintain “project” logs of quality testing such as concrete breaks, compaction testing, pipe pressure testing, etc. Analyze project logs for trends indicating early signs of potential deficiencies. Include project logs in the monthly report.
- Take and file photographs documenting the work (daily)Prepare a comprehensive Daily Inspection Report (DIR) for the work being performed.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience in the field of Transportation Construction Inspection
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Establish and maintain open communication with those contacted during work. Will confer routinely with contractor’s management staff, representatives from other State and public agencies, and the general public to resolve problems relating to the terms of the contract.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License is required when operating a company vehicle on official business in the performance of their duties driving to various field locations as required.
- Knowledge of:
- Uses of construction materials; mathematics as applied to civil engineering; methods, materials, and equipment used in construction; including surveying.
- Drawings and Specifications.
- RFIs (Request for Information), Submittals, and other change notices documents impacting the work in the field. Ensure construction staff is utilizing and building from the latest and most recent construction documents.
- The ability to:
- Prepare clear and concise written correspondence and reports.
- Maintain accurate daily reports of construction site activity, and field measurement for progress payment and produces required reports on progress, safety, quality, schedule, and budget status.
- Take appropriate action in all situations.
- Determine quality, materials, and workmanship through inspection, and to determine compliance with specifications.
- Working knowledge of and the ability to follow and apply the information contained in directives and policies.
- Proficiency in the use of Excel, Microsoft Word, and other engineer related computer programs and software.

The salary range for this position is $109000 – $176800.
