As an Inspector at Gannett Fleming, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of critical infrastructure projects in the New York City area. In this dynamic position, you will focus on Civil and Electrical projects, working on public projects to enhance the region’s transportation systems. Your experience will be particularly valuable for projects involving high traffic volume roads, where safety and precision are paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and detailed daily log of the contractor’s performance and progress including delivery of materials.
- Responsible for monitoring, inspecting and documenting the progress and quality of all aspects of construction.
- Ability to work on elevated platforms (i.e. scissors lift, “cherry picker” and underbridge traveler)
- Coordinate with the necessary entities to make sure environmental standards are met.
- Compute estimates of work completed and coordinate with the Resident Engineer and Office Engineer in verifying Contractor’s Application for Payment
- Examine workmanship of completed construction for conformity to project specifications and industry standards of construction.
- Other duties as directed by the Resident Engineer.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or NICET-II certification or acceptable combination of education / years’ experience in horizontal construction
- OSHA-10
- Experience on public works projects involving high traffic volume roads
- Ability to undergo a security background check
- Ability to read and understand plans, specifications and shop drawings
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver’s license and access to motor vehicle transportation
- Fall protection certification or ability to obtain
