We are seeking an On-Call Construction Management Resident Engineer to support Carollo’s vision. As part of our team, you will work on projects related to municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, including but not limited to major treatment plant expansions, regional water quality studies, and critical water reuse projects that will create sustainable and resilient water supplies for the world.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the resident engineer for water, wastewater, recycled water, and stormwater projects of various sizes
- Monitor project budget
- Monitor and enforce construction quality
- Monitor, observe, and report on safety issues of the project site
- Prepare meeting agendas, monthly contract status reports, budget reviews, amendment requests and negotiations
- Coordinate personnel and construction activities with other construction managers involved in the project
- Maintain a culture of effective communication among project teams, clients, partners, and other stakeholders
- Assist with business development activities, including, but not limited to: proposal preparation, scope and fee preparation, and interview participation.
- Prepare and negotiate contracts under the supervision of the senior construction manager
- Provide on-the-job training and mentoring of entry level construction/field engineers
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5-10 years of experience including a lead role in $10 million or greater water/wastewater project
- Thorough understanding of construction management processes and in-depth financial understanding of construction management
- Working knowledge and understanding of construction methods, standards, specifications and plans
- Ability to work independently and have strong personnel management skills
- Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to deliver high quality services within budget and schedule constraints
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, construction manager, and project team
- Works well in a team environment
- Highly motivated and self-starting
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Strong computer and internet skills
- Completion of OSHA 10-hour safety course and other construction safety training
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction related program
- Strong knowledge of construction management software including Primavera P6
- Proficient in Document Management Systems (i.e. Procore, Bentley PW/EADoc, etc.)
- OSHA 30-hour safety course
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or ability to obtain certification
Pay Range
$54.00 to $71.00 an hour. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
