As a Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible to supervise and schedule daily laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and steel on public and private projects throughout Stockton. The Laboratory Manager position will be responsible for mentoring and training laboratory staff on the correct testing procedures and use of the laboratory equipment. Management of the AASHTO/AMRL and CCRL accreditation programs is a standard requirement of the employment.
Salary Range: $75k-$95k/annually
*Salary is negotiable, depending on experience, skillset, and certifications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Laboratory management of testing and training of the laboratory personnel.
- Administrate local laboratory Universal Engineering Sciences accreditation programs including maintaining training documents, equipment inventory/calibrations, proficiency sample documentation and AASHTO and Corps of Engineer communications.
- Provide assistance and guidance to staff to obtain your project-specific objectives.
- Ability to operate Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Willingness to obtain additional ACI, DSA, and Caltrans certifications to expand our laboratory capabilities.
- Preparation of laboratory reports and invoices.
- Have a good attitude, work ethic, and communication skills.
- Have the ability to integrate the laboratory within the other departments and disciplines.

- The ability to balance and prioritize multiple simultaneous activities.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem solving, training, and mentoring skills.
- Participate and be a member in local technical and business organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in laboratory/field testing of soils, asphalt, masonry, and concrete.
- AASHTO/CCRL Accreditation Experience.
- Knowledge Geosystem software.
