NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range

$100,900 – $195,400

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like

Facilities Project and Construction Management is seeking a hardworking and highly motivated Construction Project Manager (job title: Facilities Engineering Project Manager) to join our team. The selected applicant will lead project teams of internal or external engineering and architectural personnel, construction contractors, customers, sponsors, and suppliers from acceptance of a Project Charter through project completion. The Construction Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that the project meets scope, schedule, and cost requirements per DOE Orders and Sandia requirements. Projects range from supplying utilities for new equipment, increasing energy efficiency and resiliency, renovating existing infrastructure, office, and laboratory space, to construction of new buildings on the approximately 400 acre site with one million square feet of space in Livermore, California.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Use your relevant technical knowledge to participate in making contributions to the project through gathering and developing the customer’s requirements and providing assurance and constructability reviews
  • Work closely with the project team to ensure that the project progresses as planned and identifies and addresses both technical and non-technical risks, opportunities, and other issues that impact the project during the project execution phase
  • Ensure that projects are completed within budget constraints using cost estimation, budget determination, and cost control and effectively addresses budget concerns with the appropriate funding source
  • Manage task definition and sequencing, duration estimation, and schedule development and control to ensure that the project is completed on schedule
  • Develop and deliver proposals, requirements documentation

Qualifications We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or other relevant field plus five or more years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience performing architecture or engineering design on infrastructure and building systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance

Qualifications We Desire

  • Master’s degree in architecture, engineering, or other relevant field
  • Electrical Engineers with power system experience
  • Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE), Leader in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and / or Project Management Professional (PMP) Demonstrated advanced computer technical skills including experience with a computerized scheduling system and AutoCAD
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience with one or more facilities management processes such as: operations, maintenance, document control, and project management
