The Construction Services Senior Project Manager for HDR’s Northern CA Construction Controls Corporation team will oversee highway-bridge and transit construction services in California Central Valley/Foothills.

Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Construction Services Senior Project Manager, we’ll count on you to:
- May serve as a Resident Engineer or Project Manager with junior staff running the bulk of the contract administration work.
- Contract Manager/Project Manager for various Construction Management/Construction Inspection contracts that HDR is the prime or sub-consultant.
- Project controls, quality control and internal project management duties.
- Responsible for performing additional construction services activities including review of contract document terms and conditions; performance of constructability and value engineering reviews; construction estimating; schedule preparation and reviews; coordinating expediting and reviewing construction submittals RFIs; monitoring and resolving contract changes; controlling project budgets and schedules; coordinating and managing project quality assurance and control and inspection services (including inspection reports).
- Will manage and facilitate pursuits in highway-bridge and transit construction services as well as assist with municipal transportation construction personnel. This includes meeting with clients, preparing proposals and presentations for transportation construction pursuits.
- Staff management to include supervision of existing inspection staff, assigning/coordinating staff as required, and recruiting staff.
- Monitors staff compliance with the Health and Safety Program through communication and inspections; and project setup and temporary facilities.
- Internally focused efforts to include preparation of program budgets and working with Project Coordinators and Accounting to review and verify invoicing, reporting, and other similar activities in support of the project documentation and invoicing processes.
- Will work with Area, Regional, and National transportation personnel with respect to opportunities for alternative delivery mechanisms for transportation projects including design-build program management, procurement services, quality programs and other related opportunities.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management or equivalent.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience as a Resident Engineer in various aspects of transportation construction project management, including but not limited to contract administration, budget management, client interface/development, resident engineering, document control, and managing staff and/or geographical areas.
- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- Must have recent experience delivering Construction services in California for Transportation clients (Roads, Bridges, Highways, Rail/Transit, and Aviation).
- Previous construction management experience.
- Significant experience in the transportation construction field is required.
- Must have strong communication and people skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications:
- California PE
- Caltrans project management experience

The expected compensation range for this position is $127,743 – $209,864 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
