Walsh is currently seeking a Construction Technology (BIM) Manager to work in our Transportation Division for a project located at the Inwood section of Manhattan, NY.
The Construction Technology (BIM) Manager is responsible for assisting project teams in the implementation of Building Information Models and Virtual Design and Construction methodologies. The Manager needs to be knowledgeable about the latest approaches in the field and drives the implementation of these technologies on large-scale construction projects. The successful candidate must have solid knowledge in construction methods and practices as well as Virtual Design and Construction systems.

Responsibilities
- Understand, promote, and implement Virtual Design and Construction processes and technologies in accordance with NYCT requirements
- Educate project team members and Subcontractors about the benefits of Virtual Design and Construction
- Develop a BIM Implementation Plan for use on the project
- Run interference detection to detect design clashes to assist project team with coordination process
- Collect and process various 2D documentation and 4D models for design coordination, which shall be developed to Level of Detail (LOD) 500
- Provide insight into new time saving methods
- Assist the project team with model visualizations
- Flexibility to build what you want, where you want
- Provide oversight of trades/Subcontractors as the developed models are constructed in the field
- Responsible for MEP subcontractor day to day task management, RFI coordinating/processing, shop drawing development/processing, and submittal QA/QC processing
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, civil engineering, or architecture
- 5 years of work experience in 3D modeling on large projects, in coordinating with Subcontractors and the design team, and in managing virtual design and construction process
- Knowledge and experience with CAD and BIM systems (e.g. AutoDesk AutoCAD, AutoDesk ADT, AutoDesk Building Systems, AutoDesk Revit Suite, Bentley Systems, Tekla, Graphisoft Constructor, NavisWorks, Innovaya)
- Familiar with MEP coordination process including 3D Modeling utilizing Revit and/or Microstation in a project environment, scheduling and sequencing to demonstrate construction processes, project turnover for facility management, programming, file sharing, and collaboration platforms
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written), teaching, and coaching skills
- Experience with NYCT/MTA (or other major transit organizations), including MEP, signal, communication, and/or traction power coordination preferred
Proficient with some of the following:
- Three-dimensional modeling, drafting, visual scheduling, graphic design, animation, audio/video production, audio/video editing, LiDAR and SLAM capture, photogrammetry capture and processing, UAS/Drone operations, programming/scripting languages, application development, data structure/analysis, and collaboration tools.
- Collaboration management; critical thinking abilities; oral, written, and graphic communication skills; and knowledge of construction contract documents are required.

- Salary Range $112,000 to $168,000
