We’re seeking a skilled Content Strategist to join our team. As an expert in content marketing strategy, you will utilize your skills in content creation, editing, optimizing, and designing to help small-to-medium businesses reach their marketing goals. As a content strategist, you will not have any direct interaction with clients, rather you will work closely with other internal teams to craft high-quality content that ranks well in search engines and drives traffic to our customers’ websites.
Our ideal candidate is highly skilled in utilizing creative tools and software to create and edit content. Additionally, you should have a great eye for design, and be able to create eye-catching content that resonates with our clients’ target audience.
You’ll take on editorial responsibilities, ensuring that all pieces of content produced meet our high standards and are optimized for search engines and social media channels.
A core part of the job is analyzing data and using it to inform strategically focused content creation. You’ll work with our team of specialists to develop and improve data-driven strategies, ensuring our results are consistent, and pushing our customers’ marketing strategy to the next level.
Previous experience in SEO, content marketing strategy, and design would be an advantage, but we offer comprehensive training, so the ability to quickly learn our approach to SEO and marketing strategy is key. Join our team, and let your content creation and design expertise make a real, positive impact on businesses in need.
Our office is located in Fort Collins, CO. This position can be in-office, remote* (in approved states), or a hybrid of the two.
Salary begins at $36,000 per year.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Content Marketing Strategist know what work to do for a client?
Each client has a portion of their monthly budget dedicated to their organic strategy. Each account has a specific Marketing Success Manager assigned to manage the workflow, data, strategy, and budget allocation. The Marketing Success Manager will work with the client to outline their ongoing strategy and goals, and provide that information to the Content Marketing Strategist to implement through a queue-based system.
What are the daily duties?
The role of a content marketing strategist is a queue-based position. Each day, upon logging in, you will be presented with a list of assigned accounts to work on. You will then delve into each account, identify the objectives outlined by the Marketing Success Manager in the overall strategy, and execute the necessary tasks accordingly.
What does the training process look like?
The comprehensive six-week training program is designed to familiarize content marketing strategists with various assets they will be responsible for. This allows ample opportunity to practice and perfect each asset before moving on to the next. As you become more proficient in executing all offered assets, the focus of the training shifts to one-on-one meetings with your Lead Content Marketing Strategist. These sessions prioritize strategy development and provide real-time answers to any questions that arise. Continuous learning is at the core of our values, as the content department regularly conducts training sessions to further enhance our skillsets in various areas.
What are the production standards for each Content Marketing Specialist?
Every Content Marketing Strategist will be responsible for managing a queue of assigned content and design items. Each task carries a specific number of credits that must be completed. The monthly quota is determined by the number of business days in the month, which allows us to establish a daily pace for populating daily queues.
What are the opportunities for growth?
In terms of career growth, Content Marketing Strategists have the opportunity to advance into senior or lead positions. Senior strategists collaborate closely with their leads to provide valuable insights aimed at enhancing team workflows and improving product offerings. They also serve as role models for the entire team in terms of work quality. Lead strategists oversee a team of content marketing strategists and report directly to the Director of Content & Strategy.
Can I work in this position remotely?
Yes. The only time remote work may be re-evaluated is if the Content Marketing Strategist is not performing up to Madwire standards.
