Continuous Improvement Program Analyst
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Continuous Improvement Program Analyst in Norfolk, VA, supporting NAVSEA/CNRMC mission goals.
Job Description:
- Perform program, analytical and administrative tasking to include organizational training. This includes oversight, coordination, alignment, and integration of DMAIC methodologies and process throughout the Command’s local and remote sites.
- Establish minimum process improvement training requirements for CNRMC staff and the RMCs based on organization level, to include training on DMAIC methods. Coordinate training events for CNRMC staff.
- Develop and track metrics to measure effectiveness of Lean and DMAIC implementation effort.
- Develop, analyze, and present improvement events and projects, to include developing reports and briefs.
- Capture and report benefits achieved from Lean performance improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing structured Lean and Six Sigma tools within the DMAIC method.
- Design, advise, plan, and direct the CNRMC staff on DMAIC deployment strategy and all aspects of implementation.
- Establish method to efficiently interface across RMC Enterprise and NAVSEA to ensure alignment, collaboration and sharing of methodology, best practices, and results.
- Serve as staff subject matter expert for continuous improvement, the DMAIC process, and change management by facilitating improvement events and projects and in an advisory role.
- Utilize the DMAIC to drive excellence and continuous improvement in all key processes.
- Conduct and facilitate conferences and other meetings with groups from different backgrounds and experience levels as required in support of continuous improvement initiatives and culture changes to ensure alignment with the CNO’s Get Real, Get Better (GRGB) charge and the NAVSEA Mission Priorities.
- Support CNRMC staff in analyzing, adapting, developing, and implementing initiatives to develop standardized business processes, implementation strategies and action plans.
- Lead efforts to establish a continuous improvement program and organization. This includes building a GRGB culture at CNRMC and the RMCs by drafting appropriate guidance documents such as CNRMC instruction(s), notice(s), standard organization chart, etc.
- Participate in organizational meetings such as leadership, community of practices, conferences, workshops, steering committees, and other-directed events that support executive initiatives.
- Assist with specific and focused projects where required.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts Degree and at least 7 years of combined working experience with continuous improvement programs utilizing structured Lean and Six Sigma tools within the DMAIC method. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of education.
- Must have a working knowledge of the NAVSEA/CNRMC /RMC’s organization, missions, and functions of to include the Atlantic and Pacific Fleet Commands to lead implementation of corporate initiatives and to communicate/coordinate business process improvements throughout the Navy community.
- Must have effective communication skills are required to work with senior leadership for commitment and support of goals.
- Must have effective writing skills are required to prepare complex reports, plans, processes, and business metrics.
- Must have experience within the least 3 years in the following areas:
- Leading and supporting teams through the DMAIC process and Lean projects.
- Improving processes and procedures.
- Championing a Lean culture to sustain improved processes and build momentum for additional improvements in other areas of your organization.
- Communicating orally and in writing to large groups at various levels through reports, meetings, briefs, metrics, and official correspondences.
- Must have a Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Must have strong PowerPoint, Word, Excel skills.
- Must be a self-starting, self-motivated, leader with highly developed interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills are/is vital to the position.
- Must possess the ability to work and blend well with all levels of the organization and have the ability to influence & persuade key stakeholders, while constructively dealing with conflicts.
- Must have the ability to work and collaborate with others, to consider the needs of all affected groups, and to build/leverage relationships across functions and within the organization to achieve business results. Decisive yet collaborative leadership style.
- Must have an advanced knowledge in MS Office Suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Must be detailed-oriented and able to multiple-task simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prefer prior Navy experience.
- Program and project management experience strongly preferred.
- Prior trainer and facilitation experience preferred.
Security Requirements:
- Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance, and the ability to maintain it.
- Must have a CAC card and the ability to maintain it.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel- up to 20%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds

Pay Range: $75,000 – $90,000 per year
