Job Description
Avery Dennison is seeking a contract administrator/specialist to review and draft multiple types of contracts related to the company’s Solutions Group business units and corporate center, coordinate the contract review process, collaborate with members of the global law department on process improvements, assist with financial budgeting and monitoring, and provide other related support to the law department.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review and draft a variety of commercial contracts, including sales, non-disclosure, consulting, license, service, procurement, distribution, real estate, and software agreements (including SaaS agreements) under the supervision and direction of law department attorneys.
- Coordinate the company’s contract review process by managing contract workflow, training employees regarding contracts and the contract review process, identifying contract review process improvements, updating and refining user guidelines, and drafting agreement templates.
- Effectively and efficiently respond to contract review and drafting requests and act as the point of contact between businesses and the law department.
- Collaborate with key partners in the business units and lawyers in the law department to ensure that contracts add value to the company and mitigate risks.
- Perform legal research as needed.
- Interact with outside counsel.
- Participate in law department and business teams in support of Company goals and objectives.
- Conduct budget build exercises, forecasting and accruals, and develop metrics related to the financial spend of the assigned business units.
- Prepare contracts and conduct analyses to determine areas for improvement.
- Other duties as assigned to support the law department.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least four (4) years of experience as a commercial contracts paralegal, or in corporate contract administration or procurement; experience with a variety of agreements, and in an international corporate environment, is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; paralegal degree/certification preferred; JD a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and cultivate outstanding client and colleague relationships.
- Willingness to accept increased responsibilities and meet the demands of the law department in a professional manner, whether working independently or as part of a team; a proactive approach, with the ability to adjust to frequent change.
- Must have experience in handling highly confidential matters.
- Excellent analytical, time-management, organizational and project-management skills.
- Accurate typing, spelling, and grammar skills are required.
- Ability to prioritize and complete projects and assignments, exercise independent judgment, initiative, attention to detail, and tact.
- Experience in M&A matters, including post-closing integration, is a plus.
- Proficiency in applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Word/Office and Excel; experience with the Google business suite (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets) preferred.
Pay Range: $72,150-$107,744
