Position Overview
This is a skilled position that is responsible for tracking, compiling, analyzing data required for effective administration of construction contracts. This position supports Estimators, Project Managers, and Accounting Staff.
Wage ranges from $20.00 to $24.00 per hour dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Create, organize, and maintain construction contract files.
- Prepare and maintain subcontract agreements.
- Review and maintain subcontractor bond company files.
- Manage and approve certified payroll, internal and subcontractor.
- Manage compliance with DOT subcontractor requirements.
- Prepare and manage required subcontractor documentation.
- Request subcontractor pre-qualification documentation.
- Review subcontracts, verifying accuracy, and resolving discrepancies in line with company rules and guidelines.
- Liaising between parties regarding subcontract development, and negotiations regarding terms and conditions, and drafting and revising changes as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 2 years of experience as a Contract Administrator or equivalent, preferred.
- Experience in a building materials/construction industry preferred.
Work Requirements
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
- Report to the office dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required (less than 20% of the time).
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Proficient knowledge of legal requirements pertaining to relevant contracts.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work with partnering departments.
- Ability to effective use office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, copiers, ten key adding machine, printers, etc.
- Demonstrate a hands-on, collaborative approach, work well in a team.
- Strong skill in planning and organization, as well as skills in project management.
