The (Temporary) Contract and Compliance Manager will work under the general direction of the Corporate Counsel, VP of Legal. This role is expected to rely heavily on contract management experience and regulatory compliance comprehension to successfully complete assigned tasks and projects. This role works closely with members of the Legal/Risk team, external vendors, state entities, and cross-functional internal employees on a daily basis.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Complete hospital contract risk review to mitigate exposure and assess the need for key approvals from appropriate internal staff
- Respond to audit and other legal document requests by gathering and assembling contract documents
- Serve as owner and manager of contract workflow tool to ensure timely review and completion of workflows by all stakeholders
- Collaborate with Legal and additional business units as needed across the enterprise to support contracting with external vendors and agency’s hospital contract administration
- Complete regulatory state filing and data reporting requirements related to various license renewals (including healthcare staffing agency licensure) and respond to state data calls, surveys, audits, requests, and inquiries
- Represent legal/compliance on special projects, including reading, interpreting, and ensuring the company’s compliance with new and/or changing regulations

Here’s what we are looking for:
- Ability to quickly learn the key aspects of the role (i.e., regulatory, systems, workflows, personnel, etc.) and make an immediate positive contribution
- 3-5 years of contract management experience, including substantive and detail-oriented contract review (This role will not have contract drafting responsibilities.)
- 3-5 years of experience researching and compiling legal documents from a variety of sources to respond to organizational and external agency requests
- User or admin user level experience with project/workflow management software (e.g., Smartsheet) and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities without losing efficiency
- Ability to develop reports by researching and organizing data from multiple resources
- Ability to monitor, assess and drive compliance with new and/or changing requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high level of comfort communicating with employees across functional areas and external stakeholders
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and sound judgment
- Highest levels of personal and professional integrity
- Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced, time-pressured, demanding, and complex environment and maintain a sense of urgency

Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed attorney, J.D., certified paralegal or contract manager
- Prior experience managing contracts in a healthcare or staffing organization
- Familiarity with Smartsheet or similar workflow/document/tracking tool
Compensation:
The hourly range for this role is $50 /hr-$60/hr. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise & may vary from the amount above.
