The Opportunity:
CCIE’s Research and Administration Team (RAST) seeks a Contracts and Grants Specialist II to join their team! This position coordinates post- award activities and initiatives to support the successful administration of funded projects for the College of Community Innovation and Education.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor funded grant projects and ensure compliance with standard accounting principles, UCF rules and regulations and federal regulations
  • Manage a portfolio of 50-60 funded grant projects in order to ensure that the grant activities and objectives are implemented and completed effectively, on time and within budget
  • Serve as liaison with units involved in financial management (i.e.. UCF Office of Research, CCIE Budget Office) and the Principal Investigator to ensure that financial accounting procedures are followed, that invoices are promptly submitted for payment and budget reports are prepared in a timely manner and routinely reviewed for accuracy
  • Maintain, track, and analyze revenues and expenses on C&G research projects for reconciliation and verification on behalf of CCIE faculty involved in funded research to ensure compliance
  • Provide review and approval of travel requisitions, purchases, student tuition payments and stipends, deposits and receivables for C&G research projects and service/recharge centers
  • Access to Workday, student accounts, and all OR research systems software and handle sensitive and confidential information (personnel data, salaries, FERPA)
  • Assist in the budget amendments, reports on grant activity, and close out activities (accounting, final report, e tc); maintaining relevant project records
  • Participate in trainings to increase research administration knowledge
  • Maintain relevant research administration records as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Discipline
  • Experience in research administration best practices, familiarity with Uniform Guidance, and/or other federal regulations
  • Financial/accounting experience in research administration and/or higher education environment
