Contracts Counsel

Overview

Pacific Retirement Services (PRS) is currently seeking an experienced Contracts Counsel to serve on our in-house legal team for the Pacific Retirement Services family of organizations. You will work closely with our Chief Legal Officer, corporate officers and PRS stakeholders to timely draft, review and negotiate contracts and leases necessary to implement a wide range of projects including but not limited to: management agreements, software agreements, vendor service contracts, and residence and care agreements, minimizing risks and maximizing legal rights on behalf of PRS. You will be PRS’ primary point of contact for all system-wide contracting questions and needs, managing an efficient, organized and expedient process, rooted in sound management of contract management and contract repository software. You also will provide general legal support on a broad variety of transactions, including negotiating, drafting and reviewing documents necessary to implement business finance transactions, such as legal opinions, loan agreements, real estate transactional, financing, promissory notes, guaranty agreements, trust deeds and security agreements.

This position reports directly to our Chief Legal Officer and will work remotely. Our preference is for candidates to currently be based in one of the states in which we operate – Oregon, Arizona, California, Texas, Washington or Wisconsin.

We want to set you up for success, so we make sure relationship building, training and development, and high-quality service are part of our everyday mentality. Here’s what you’ll need to be successful leader in this role;

  • J.D. or M.L. Law degree from an ABA Accredited School.
  • Current license in good standing to practice law in any US State. Knowledge and or licensing in Oregon, California, Washington, Arizona, Texas and/or Wisconsin is a plus.
  • Four (4) years’ experience practicing law with a concentration in contract management.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable by the designated carrier.
  • Broad range of legal, business, and management experience especially in corporate law, business law, non-profit law, real property law, employment practices, and healthcare regulations is a plus.
  • Must have a high level of tact, persuasion, judgment and timing.
