Key job responsibilities
Drafting and documenting a variety of commercial contractual relationships, including service agreements and work orders, marketing agreements, sponsorship agreements, and talent agreements; identifying and implementing process improvements; documenting processes; and providing training and guidance to business clients on contracts, policies, and guidelines
A day in the life
You will serve as primary legal support for the Amazon Music business,
working on a variety of commercial and intellectual property agreements for all Amazon Music business teams. You will draft, review and negotiate these agreements and guide business clients through applicable approval processes. You will draft and negotiate more unique contractual relationships under guidance of manager/counsel. You will own and drive process improvement, standard agreement updates, and simplification and automation projects.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently and independently; manage high volumes of tasks and projects with little guidance; react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick response or turnaround; take effective action without knowing the total picture; and think creatively and be proactive in solving problems that affect people within the group or other related groups. The candidate will also be client-service oriented, have great attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines, have great organization skills, and have the ability to easily switch gears. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information, as well as the ability to work well with people at all levels inside and outside the company, is essential to the role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of contracts management, paralegal, or other comparable experience within a law firm or legal department
– Bachelor’s Degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years’ experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating the legal terms of a range of commercial contracts
– In-house legal experience is a plus
– Incisive business and legal instincts
– Sound judgment in ambiguous situations
– Prowess in delivering results independently, as well as collaboratively
– Passion to embrace challenges and aggressively drive meaningful solutions, including amid complexity and uncertainty
– Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, and commitment to follow through and meet deadlines
– Sharp analytical and communication skills
– Experience in media and entertainment, coupled with an ability to remain nimble, learn, be curious, and adapt to a changing world

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $146,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
