Controller

CDI is a full-service, multiple-scopes environmental company.We specialize in: commercial landscape installation/maintenance, erosioncontrol products installation/maintenance, snow & ice management services.

The Controller directs all aspects ofaccounting, financial reporting, audits, tax filings, payroll and internalcontrols over said areas. Assists with annual budgets, forecasts and reportingon key indicators as well as supervision of 2-3 direct reports. DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES

PRIMARY
• Supervise, monitor, and evaluate the performanceof accounting staff; recommend and implement personnel actions such astraining, development and promotions. Responsible for the overall managementand results of the accounting department including hiring and dismissals in accordancewith HR policies and procedures.
• Maintain in a timely and accurate manner thegeneral ledger and register through reconciliation of source documents.
• Reconcile bank accounts, arrange for electronictransfer of funds and monitor cash accounts daily.
• Determine depreciation rates to apply tocapitalized items.
• Prepare operational reports for managementanalysis, including aging accounts receivables and payables, cash position, andfinancials. Some reporting on a weekly basis to Sr. Management team and otherkey personnel within the company.
• Receive and record requests for disbursements;authorize disbursements in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Establish and maintain internal controls tosupport the financial infrastructure.
• Prepare and present financial reporting andpotential risk areas to senior management.
• Manage month-endclosing, and record necessary entries (recurring & non-recurring) tocomplete financials for multiple related entities.
• Prepare Project Cashflow forecasts.

SECONDARY
• Work with other departments and branches for theoverall company improvement and benefit. Provide direction and lead trainingregarding accounting, budgeting, policies, procedures, efficient control andutilization of financial resources.
• Maintain current knowledge of organizationalpolicies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and currentaccounting standards. Conduct or coordinate audits of company accounts andfinancial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies, state andfederal requirements and statutes.
• Analyze the financial details of past, present,and expected operations in order to identify development opportunities andareas where improvement is needed and recommend benchmarks for measuringperformance of departments and branches.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS &QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in accounting or related field, preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accountingmanagement roles with 2+ years’ experience in construction accountingpreferred.
• Mastery of GAAP accounting in a constructionenvironment using percentage completion method for revenue recognition preferred.
• Experience with advanced ERP accounting software,Viewpoint Spectrum experience highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills, strong Excel skills and an attention todetail required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal andwritten communication skills
• High degree of initiative and flexibilityrequired to successfully accommodate deadlines
• Ability to maintain data integrity and accuracyand use data to identify and solve problems.
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multipletasks within a defined time period.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Work Environment: Work is performed in an office setting withprolonged periods of sedentary activity. Must be able to sit/stand at desk andwork at a computer for prolonged periods of time
• Travel: 0%
• Physical Activities: Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.occasionally

Salary Range: $100,000-$150,000 per year DOE
