As Controller, you will oversee all aspects of financial management services, regulatory and financial reporting, month end close process, budget and forecasts preparation, oversee sales tax preparation and filings, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. The Controller supervises all accounting staff and ensures that department operational policies and practices are rooted in and exemplify FESCO’s core values.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • FINANCE & ACCOUNTING: Manage and ensure the timely and accurate performance of all accounting operations including, but not limited to, Billing, A/R, A/P, GL; Produce the annual budget and financial forecasts, as well as identify and report on significant variances; Prepare and publish timely and complete financial statements; Support month-end and year-end close process; Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting; Assist in business data analytics and dashboard reporting; Provide additional analysis to support business leaders as needed; Maintain an orderly accounting filing system and chart of accounts; Assist in the coordination of annual review activities; Coordinate with corporate office to provide any necessary analysis as needed.
  • MANAGEMENT & TEAM BUILDING: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with regulatory rules and standards including, but not limited to, local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings; Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls; establish work priorities for self and staff, adjusting as necessary; provide adequate resources and time to accomplish goals; provide staff with consistent and meaningful feedback, including recognition of accomplishments; include staff in planning, decision-making, and process improvement; Assist in the hiring, training, and continuing development of all accounting staff.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years or more of related experience required
  • CPA licenses preferred
  • Advance Excel formula skills required
  • Solid communication skills, both written and oral
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently
  • High attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
