Position Summary
The University of Denver is seeking a talented professional to join our Advancement team as the Annual Giving Coordinator. The Annual Giving Coordinator is a part of the Development team within DU Advancement. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Annual Giving, this position assists with building a culture of philanthropy and generosity among University of Denver students, faculty, staff, recent graduates, and alumni. This employee must be a passionate ambassador for the University of Denver who is able to innovate in the field of constituent engagement and philanthropy.
Essential Functions
This role is primarily responsible for working in collaboration with the Associate Director of Annual Giving and other members of the Annual Giving team to direct, manage, execute, and evaluate all student philanthropy and recent graduate giving initiatives and to support all special and signature campaigns staged by the Annual Giving team. Specifically:
- Serve as Associate Director of Annual Giving’s point person for all existing and new solicitation campaigns by providing channel research as well as logistical planning. This includes working with individuals and teams university-wide to facilitate logistics including but not limited to: campaign appropriate online giving tools, web resources, fund designation confirmation, appeal code requests, copyediting, creative proofing, vendor bidding, monthly reporting and data analysis, data hygiene, etc. There are at least six signature campaigns throughout the fiscal year that require this work.
- Serve as supervisor of the DU Student Foundation (DUSF). Provide institutional support and guidance to two paid student employees, including but not limited to: strategic planning, event coordination, curation of educational experiences, timekeeping, and mentorship.
- Support Annual Giving strategy and project integration within the Crimson Call Center. This includes regular communication of emerging solicitation campaigns in other channels, facilitating content/copy/targeting.
- Manage intake and maintenance of all new and existing text-to-give codes and crowdfunding project requests and maintaining the team information hub.
- Provide fundraising/stewardship training services to campus partners across the institution to help raise funds from the campus community for University causes.
- In collaboration with Donor Relations and the DU Student Foundation, develop and execute effective strategies for donor relations and stewardship programs to thank students, faculty, staff and recent graduates for their support as well as educate them regarding the importance of long-term giving and the impact of alumni support.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience (Veterans with equivalent combination of military certification/education and experience may substitute for the degree qualification)
- 2 years of prior fundraising experience, which could include community organizing or campaign roles
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in higher education or similarly complex non-profit environment
- Hands-on experience with student campaigns, crowdfunding, time-limited campaigns, or peer-to-peer fundraising
- Experience working with volunteer boards or committees
- Event planning and logistics experience
- Experience in student and/or young alumni programming
- Annual giving experience and/or marketing experience
Working Environment
- Standard open office environment
- Noise level is quiet to moderate
- Some nights and weekends required for events
- Eligible for hybrid work
Physical Activities
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs with assistance
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., some nights and weekends as required

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 7.
Hourly Range:
The hourly range for the position is $20.43 – $25.50

The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
