Summary
The Career Services Coordinator will offer an extensive array of career exploration and assistance programs aligned with career pathways into employment with a family sustaining wage. The coordinator will focus on Information Technology workforce pathways that provide in-demand job skills development and close the workforce and diversity gaps. As part of the Workforce Development team, the coordinator will promote, develop and cultivate relationships with Information Technology business and industry stakeholders to support ICC workforce development program(s). This position will work on the East Peoria, Peoria, and Pekin campuses.
This position is Grant Funded through the IT Workforce Accelerator Grant. The end date of the grant is May 31,2025.
Essential Functions

- Work with the Workforce Development team to create partnerships to meet the workforce and community education needs of the greater Peoria region.
- Analyze business and industry trends to identify key workforce needs and develop contextualized programs to assist in meeting those needs.
- Assist students, community members, K-12 partners, and industry partners with ICC’s career services and development such as resume writing, career pathways, and interviewing skills to support career choices and employment changes for the Information Technology sector.
- Represent the college at area education and Information Technology industry events related to workforce development.
- Manage the current career services software services and consistently research new systems to best meet the needs of the area.
- Conduct career services workshops to increase employability skills.
- Maintain and train education and community partners through online career services programs.
- Identify current market data for possible student internships, employment, and apprenticeships in Information Technology through Workforce Development Earn and Learn programs.
- Collaborate with Workforce Development team in providing career services to the community.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop targeted marketing plans for all programs.
- Initiate, compose, and distribute various correspondences pertaining to and promoting Career Services
- Provide introduction and assistance to students taking the credit course ICC 111.
- Conduct in-class presentations, designed to infuse career planning and placement into the regular classroom
- Update and maintain the College Central Network, a database for use by employers, students, internship coordinators, and faculty.

Minimum Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
1.Bachelor’s degree in business, education or a related field.
2. Three years of experience in employment, education, training, program management, instructional design or a related field.
3.Knowledge of career services such as interviewing techniques and resume building.
4. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
5. Strong interpersonal skills including abilities to build, maintain, and establish cooperative and professional working relationships with diverse audiences from various backgrounds.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Microsoft Suite applications and career services software.
Preferred Qualifications
1.Master’s degree in business, instructional design or a related field.
2. Experience in Career Services or Human Resources.
3. Experience working in Higher Education.
4. Experience in Workforce Development programs.
5. Experience using adult learning best-practices and up-to-date on appropriate training methods and techniques for diverse populations.
6. Knowledge of CRM systems.
