Title: Coordinator, Community Affairs Department: Government & Community Affairs Status: Full-Time Pay Rate: $22.00-$24.00/hour Reports to: Manager, Community Affairs *Compensation rates vary based on job-related factors, including experience, job skills, education, and training. The Community Affairs Coordinator will work on a range of the Dodgers community affairs outreach efforts and activities. This includes working on player specific initiatives and special events. In addition, this person will provide support for all internal and external events that fall within the purview of the Government and Community Affairs department. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide event and program support for all CR programs and initiatives
- Provide research support, data entry and tracking for CR programs and initiatives
- Manage the review and selection of all Military Heroes of the Game and coordinate game day logistics with the Marketing department as needed
- Process department invoices
- Manage the Dodgers charitable ticket donation database
- Manage in-kind, promo, and gift inventory
- Support all department initiatives as needed, with an emphasis on special events, and MLB initiatives at the direction of the Manager of Special events including, but not limited to:
- Player Give Back program, Pitch Hit & Run Championship, Playball clinics, Jackie Robinson Day, Roberto Clemente Day, LGBTQ Sprit Day etc.
- Health education and awareness, the Dodger/UCLA Blue Wish program, Mental Health collaborations, player hospital visits, and healthcare themed ticket packs
- Children’s Holiday Party, Annual Thanksgiving Drive, Annual Backpack Giveaway, etc.
- Assist managers as needed with data tracking and measuring impacts of all community activities
- Assist with compilation of weekly reports, dashboards, PowerPoints, monthly community newsletters, annual yearbook, and media guide
- Assist with all pre-event planning and execution
- Prepare briefing memos for all events and after-action reports at the conclusion of the event
- Assist with pre-game and game day on-field activities including batting practice visits, meet and greet visits, auction experiences, and player support as needed
- Support the Manager, Senior Director and department as needed
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other variable hours as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Basic Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Bilingual English/Spanish (verbal and written) preferred
- Minimum one to two years’ experience in community relations/outreach, non-profit organization, or related field
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and maintain flexibility when working on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines
- Goal oriented, self-starter with strong work ethic
- Ability to work in tandem with internal and external customers (residents, civic and business leaders, volunteers) with a positive customer service attitude
- Able to work independently, creatively, with initiative and accurately within specific deadlines
- Ability to work efficiently in a large communal front office atmosphere and work collaboratively within a team environment
- Possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Innovative and creative, with a proven ability to think outside the box
