Coordinator, Planning and Implementation, Pretrial Services Division

Overview:

CASES is a New York City non-profit organization at the forefront of alternative to incarceration programs and comprehensive services for criminal justice-involved populations. The Coordinator of Planning and Implementation will provide needed support to program staff and cross-divisional leadership by managing new projects and initiatives that are continually being introduced as part of the evolution of the program and planned enhancements. This role will supply necessary organization and productivity in moving forward with critical projects that help to deliver innovation and adaptation of services provided to program participants.

All applicants must comply with CASES/NYC’s vaccination policy. Individuals selected for employment cannot begin working until they provide verification that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (with an FDA-authorized vaccine) or submit and gain approval for a Medical or Religious Exemption. Individuals approved for exemption must submit weekly PCR test results.

Job Description

Candidates Should Possess:

  • A dedicated commitment to work at advancing justice for NYC residents involved in the criminal legal system
  • Excellent critical-thinking, decision-making and leadership capabilities
  • A track record in project planning and project management, meeting deadlines and budget expectations
  • Ability to maintain focus on the long-term trajectory of projects while pursuing completion of smaller tasks and objectives
  • Ability to present verbal and written update reports to Senior and Executive Leadership Teams
  • Experience and broad knowledge of the criminal legal system and bail reform policy and practice is preferred
  • Competence in planning for large change management shifts amongst a large and diverse multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to facilitate meetings and present ideas cogently to a broad range of stakeholders and brief the team on the steps necessary to carry out a successful implementation plan
  • Experience in working creatively with a variety of partners, including members of government, program staff, community-based organizations, and criminal legal professionals
  • Skill in driving forward projects or threads of work within complex initiatives
  • Ability to meet challenges with equanimity, course correct as needed and to overcome barriers whenever possible
  • Ability to motivate staff you do not supervise to make progress on projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in business administration, project management, criminal justice or other related field with at least three (3) years of related work experience and preferably a Post-Bachelor’s certificate in project management related skills
  • Advanced proficiency in project management tools, such as Microsoft Project, Monday and similar
  • Effective writer able to create detailed reports and plans
