Overview
Under the general direction of the Manager, Benefits Operations, the Corporate Benefits Specialist will provide a broad range of Benefits/HR administrative support in the operation of the Medical, Prescription Drug, Dental, and COBRA/HIPAA plans. In addition, they will be responsible for inheriting, from an operational perspective, new initiatives which align with our business objectives and strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Maintains high level of awareness of vendor partner resources/tools; routinely inspects resources and tests tools in order to make recommendations to increase their utilization among employees and their covered dependents.
- Creates and facilitates training to all employees on vendor partners tools/resources to increase employee engagement and education in order to maximize the value of Paychex corporate healthcare benefits/programs.
- Assists in creating, reviewing and updating well-being program content & communications, such as policies and procedures (online and print). Provides appropriate solutions requiring research.
- Keeps abreast of industry trends relating to areas of expertise and their potential impact on Paychex plans, programs, policies and procedures. Communicates and makes recommendations to management in order to improve our employees experience.
- Routinely monitors Paychex Corporate Benefits portal page to ensure that the information is accurate and relevant to employees. Makes recommendations for changes as appropriate.
- Provides management with ad hoc research, reports, or proposal generation, as requested, to support the department function. Keeps Corporate Benefits leadership team apprised of any employee/covered dependent concerns or trends.
- Responds to employee benefits and well-being inquiries and resolves issues by coordinating with internal departments (e.g. Payroll and Legal) and benefit vendors to provide excellent customer service and ensure that issues are resolved.
- Performs daily administration functions to support the administration of the benefits programs, including file feed transfers, statistical reporting, enrollment elections and changes for new hires and leave of absence employees, beneficiary changes, and Qualified Medical Support Orders (QMSO).
- Responsible for operational administration of all wellness programs including data integrity and vendor operations and works cross functionally to support the well-being programs teams.
- Audits preparation and payment submissions of invoices to external vendors relating to areas of expertise to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Participates in status/planning meetings, implementation of enhancements, and problem resolutions to maintain relationships with vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in
- 5 years of experience in Human Resources experience specifically with exposure to or experience in a Benefits generalist capacity.
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $18.82 – $29.57 hourly. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
