Job Duties and Responsibilities

We seek an experienced communications professional to join DISH’s Internal Communications team within the Corporate Communications group. This Corporate Communications Manager will support key internal initiatives by developing and executing integrated communications strategies that engage employees at all levels, key partners, and the community at large. The ideal candidate is an efficient task manager skilled in program execution, has experience working with C-suite executives, multiple business units, and various communications mediums (e.g., written, video) and platforms (e.g., intranet, social, live event), and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Strategic Thinking and Business Acumen

  • Develop strategic, creative, and effective communications plans aligned with the needs of the business; understand and simplify complex ideas/technical issues and make them relatable to a variety of internal audiences with varying levels of understanding/experience; pro-actively lead internal programs; contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
  • Partner with executives, departments, and cross-functional teams to develop compelling stories and messaging that amplify our strategic goals, vision and mission, executive objectives, and cultural tenets; serve as a subject matter expert on key messaging, integrated campaigns, measurement, trends, and opportunities.
  • Work cross-functionally to build communications strategies that engage employees, drive cultural affinity, and support business growth; serve as trusted communications adviser to the company; provide constructive feedback to executives and business unit leaders.

Project Management

  • Create materials including intranet stories, videos, situational FAQs, executive talking points, company-wide emails, and measurement reports; engage on crisis communications topics.
  • Develop and launch projects and campaigns with little oversight; conduct proactive follow-up and track and report results.
  • Manage day-to-day content and operations of newly launched company intranet site; advise departments and teams on best practices and engagement opportunities; grow the Community population to enhance collaboration within DISH.
  • Oversee cross-functional resources; model a collaborative and team-oriented approach; work collaboratively throughout the business.
  • Effectively communicate with senior leaders, including presenting strategy and results; encourage partnership, enthusiasm, and strategic thinking.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing, or similar applicable field and/or combination of relevant experience. A minimum of 6-8 years of professional PR/communications experience.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; experience writing internal stories/communications, speeches, and other materials; experience in creating and drafting engaging social media content.
  • Demonstrated ability to use creative thinking to develop internal communications opportunities, stories and social media content; experience using integrated tactics to supplement external public relations activities is a plus.
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills; ability to communicate recommendations and present new ideas to management and executive leadership.
  • Strict attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines; solid organizational and project management skills; ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage projects autonomously.
  • Proven ability to transform data, reports, and analytics into strategic recommendations and action plans.

Salary Range

Compensation: $90,000.00/Year – $120,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role’s location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
