Amazon is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our Global Subsidiaries Legal team and to lead our work in the Americas. The candidate must have a strong corporate law and corporate governance background and be able to supervise legal professionals responsible for forming and maintaining Amazon’s subsidiaries in the Americas. The candidate must be able to research and advise on corporate law issues in multiple jurisdictions, execute on complex corporate restructuring projects, and work effectively with outside counsel in foreign jurisdictions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) and licensed to practice law in the US, Europe, or other common law jurisdiction
• 5+ years of experience practicing law
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience managing legal professionals
• Experience with tax, accounting, and intercompany matters
• Experience with corporate restructuring projects and governance and maintenance of entities in multiple jurisdictions
• Experience with M&A transactions and investments
• A proven ability to manage a large number and variety of mission-critical projects, working with other cross-functional teams and often in ambiguous environments
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Sound and practical business judgment, as well as common sense
• English (Fluent)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
