Proper Hospitality is seeking a Corporate Director of Benefits and Payroll to join our corporate team. This key role will oversee and ensure both accurate and timely processing of company payroll as well as administration of company benefits.
A combination of both strategy and hands-on administration, the ideal candidate will be the subject matter expert responsible for delivering benefits, compensation, and payroll support to the operating properties within the Proper portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a strategy which drives the evolution of the active employee benefits programs offered
- Lead annual review of the benefit plans for cost effectiveness, competitiveness and benefit trends
- Manage ongoing relationships with benefits consultants, brokers and vendors
- Design and implement communication programs to enhance the value of benefit programs and increase employee understanding and engagement
- Assist with change management, process improvement and best practices; responsible for roadmap of future enhancements
- Manage the day-to-day payroll operations ensuring accurate and timely processing of payrolls
- Manage the annual renewal and open enrollment, including all communications and training
- Drive implementation, product management, configuration, testing, compliance and production support of Payroll, Time-Tracking, Absence (time off and leaves) and GL/finance reporting/dashboards in Workday as well as all related systems
- Support payroll team with troubleshooting, payroll/tax updates and corrections, reporting and testing
- Oversee payroll year-end processes (year-end functionality, W-2 mapping, New Year set-up, SUI rate updates, etc.)
- Ensure compliance of our benefits with all applicable laws and regulations
- Support Corporate Finance and Human Resources goals and initiatives
- Partner with key internal stakeholders such as Human Resources, Legal and Finance to ensure efficient plan administration and excellent customer service to colleagues
- Maintain system access for users and security while managing support cases; create and update user guides for documentation
- Maintain relationships, serving as lead contact for all related external partners
- Provide training as appropriate to end users
Qualifications:
- Prior hotel industry experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 3-5 years experience in Benefits & Payroll
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment with multiple overlapping priorities
- Must be detail oriented with outstanding organizational skills
- Expert with in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of benefits with a strong focus in payroll
- Must be self-driven and able to work independently
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required
