The Corporate Giving Manager plays a critical role in supporting the company’s commitment to social responsibility and community involvement. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong track record of success in corporate giving, nonprofit management, or philanthropy with a passion for social responsibility and giving back to the community.
This position will report to the Director, Advocacy and Philanthropy. The person in this role works collaboratively with our business leaders, government and public affairs managers, and communications team to set strategy for and implement our companywide philanthropy programs in alignment with our citizenship value.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee implementation (and drive continuous improvement) for our companywide philanthropy strategy in alignment with company goals and values.
- Implement the philanthropic portion of our Rural Communities Strategy as part of our 3 by 30 sustainability strategy ambitions in coordination with the Director of Advocacy & Philanthropy.
- Work with senior management, business VPs and local business leaders to ensure our philanthropic programs and activities meet the needs of our local operations and communities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, civic organizations and nonprofit partners that will amplify the impact of our overall philanthropic strategy. Identify and evaluate potential nonprofit partners.
- Collaborate with the communications team to promote the company’s giving initiatives and increase awareness of the program.
- Manage the corporate philanthropy budget and work with local Giving Fund Advisory Committees to ensure funds are distributed appropriately and that giving is aligned with our companywide strategy.
- Manage and improve our Giving Fund Advisory Committee online toolkit to help local teams be more effective, and work with the communications team to amplify external recognition of our philanthropic activity.
- Manage the relationship with our grant-giving platform vendor (Benevity) and ensure all grants are processed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manage our TREE-mendous Matching Gifts program, including working with the communications team to ensure strong companywide engagement. Manage our Disaster Relief and Employee Assistance Fund programs.
- Track and report on the impact of the company’s philanthropic efforts, including the number of volunteer hours, funds raised and impact on nonprofits in alignment with our sustainability reporting.
- Monitor philanthropy trends and best practices and recommend changes to the company’s strategy as needed.
- Attend and represent Weyerhaeuser in community and philanthropic events.
- Understand IRS, tax and legal compliance issues surrounding all grantmaking and company giving activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate giving, philanthropy, or nonprofit management.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including experience developing and delivering presentations, and comfort speaking with a variety of stakeholders and audiences.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information to a variety of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful fundraising campaigns.
- Knowledge of nonprofit operations and the ability to evaluate nonprofit organizations.
- Experience in managing budgets and tracking financial performance.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to track and report on the impact of corporate giving initiatives.
- Experience living in or working in rural communities (strongly preferred)
Preferred Location
This role reports to our Director of Advocacy & Philanthropy. The preferred location for this role is hybrid in Seattle, WA or one of our other primary locations to include Atlanta, GA; Hot Springs, AR; or Raleigh or New Bern, NC with potential flexibility in other locations. Fully remote a possibility if you are located in or planning to relocate to the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, or West Virginia. This role is not open to those who live in other states or countries.
Some travel required.
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $92,500 to $138,700 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
