Corporate Partnerships Intern – River Cats

Interns may be responsible for any relocation and/or housing expenses.

As the Corporate Partnerships Intern you will assist in the timely, accurate and thorough fulfillment on partnership packages and ensure the complete satisfaction of its corporate partners. Duties will require the Corporate Partnerships Intern to participate, as needed, in qualifying prospects, researching leads, and managing timelines and deadlines of all package deliverables. As member of the 2024 Intern Class, you will be educated on sports management, the fan experience, and will work on and present an end of term project with your cohort.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Activation of sponsored elements in-game, virtually and in the community.
  • Auditing signage in the ballpark and updating as necessary.
  • Assisting clients with set-up and execution of events.
  • Auditing and managing all game-day activities to ensure that corporate partner elements are executed.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments in the organization including Promotions, Marketing, Operations, Guest Services, and Events and Entertainment to ensure that corporate partners’ messages are accurate and effective.

Internship Program Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the Sports Management Series, the Sport Event Series, and the Leadership Series courses during the first half of the internship term.
  • Actively participate and contribute to the Intern Cohort project generating an idea which improves the employee experience, fan experience, or both. Present the project to the senior leadership team during the last week of the program.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing a degree with a focus in communications, marketing, sports management, hospitality & tourism, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Availability to work up to 25 hours per week throughout the duration of the internship including nights, weekends, holidays, and early mornings.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite is required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, manage timelines, and meet deadlines.
  • Prior experience working with a team to see a project from conception to completion.
  • Must possess excellent phone and interpersonal skills.
  • General knowledge of baseball and baseball terminology is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel locally to events and other office as needed.
  • Work in all weather conditions including above average heat.

Compensation:

This position is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt internship at a rate of $16.00 per hour. Total compensation & offer package will include Sacramento River Cats home game tickets, discounts on merchandise, and exclusive employee and internship events.
